  1. I am actually reading through the book of Daniel now. It’s such a thought-provoking book, and I feel like I am finally getting a better understanding of it, especially the visions he has. He was called by the Babylonian name Belteshazzar.

  2. Daniel’s Babylonian name, Belteshazzar, means “Bel protects his life.” Bel is one of their gods. The meaning of the name Daniel is “God is my judge.” The suffix of Daniel’s name (and Mishael’s) is -el, which refers to Elohim, one of the names of the God of Israel.

  3. Called Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians by Nebuchadnezzar. It is then stated Belteshazzar is named for Nebuchadnezzar’s god and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.

Praying for your mother and your family.

Thank you for a chance to win your book.

Thanks, y’all, for your answers and comments. Those who said you’re praying for my mama, here’s a little update: She’s home from rehab and doing well. Thanks so much. And it’s my joy to do giveaways! Love your explanations and deep understanding of the names given in Scripture. Keep those entries coming! 😉

  5. Belteshazzar. I love the book of Danial. The faith and trust in God shown is in itself a miracle. Your system keeps saying I have repeated myself.

  6. Daniel’s babylonian name was Belteshazzar. The record of Daniel is fascinating, and I always think about him when I read Ephesians 6, in light of putting on the whole armour of God. Daniel knew there was a spiritual battle going on; many times we do not realize or remember that. It is important to remember that Jesus Christ spoiled principalities and powers, and we have the authority to claim victories in His name.
I have not read your book or known about it ’til now, but I look forward to finding it and reading it!
I came across your website via Tessa Afshar’s newsletter and contest link. Thanks!
