Sometimes things in life just seem to be way too hard and out of our control. Things just don’t seem to go right and we are finding it hard to make money on the side to keep things going smoothly. Maybe you/spouse is on disability for some reason and unable to work full time or part time. Or maybe you’re a one income family, where Mom stays home with the kids or visa versa if your husbands out of work and maybe you homeschool your kids, so you’re at home.
Whatever your reason for less income,
God has it covered!
Yes it seems we get way low on things, we get caught up in the moment and lack faith to see the big picture…
I know I have been there…
You don’t know where your next bit of food will come from…
You don’t know how your going to get the vehicle fixed…
You don’t know how you’re going to get clothing for your kids…
You don’t know where your next job is going to be…
So you can feed your family!
God does know and whatever he has brought you to, He will bring you through it.
I can so relate…married but sorta living the solo parent life right now. My DH is disabled and we live on a fixed income of SSD. Things get tight at times and we have to rely on God to provide for us what we can’t do ourselves. That requires faith and lots of it!
So your down to your last can of beans and a bag of rice ? What do you do ?
You pray and you eat what you have.
You visit family or friends for a meal.
You call your local food pantry (getting harder today many are closing down)
You call a church for help.
You apply for food stamps (if you don’t have them already)
You ask for help!
If there is one thing I have learned over the years, its that your pride can’t stand in the way of you feeding your family. Everyone has hard times in life. I know that God doesn’t expect anyone to go it alone. That is why we as Christians need to help each other, we are family.

You have described where I am all too perfectly. I have it better than many, my parents are my landlords, so I will always have a place to live. Even if I have to choose between paying rent or buying groceries. I am trusting (or trying to trust) that God has it all under control. Some days are easier than others.
Thank you Kate for sharing your life with us. Truly trusting God is a huge part of faith in Christ. I will pray for you to be blessed and it’s wonderful your parents are there for you.

TRUSTING GOD isn’t something that comes naturally to any of us, eh? I’m thinking over the story of PHARAOH’S DAUGHTER, and I have to confess…I’m not sure how the Israelites endured 400 years of God’s silence and yet continued to trust Him. Trusting is hard but so worth it when the answer comes. When we see our God up close, answering personal need with intimate care–it’s soooooo worth the journey! 😉
Back then 400 years might have boon half of someone’s life ! Praise Jesus we have him by the Father and go directly to him. Even if the answer is wait… It is hard to imagine waiting that long !

Great post Linda. I too know about having to ask for help and it’s only me. You’re doing a great job.
Thank you for the encouragement !

Wow, I was this person 4 1/2 years ago when I lost my last job and knew I would never work again due to so many health problems. I remember feeling so lost the first day of not getting up to go to work and I got my bible out and I was crying and saying “what now Lord?” I remember He showed me the verse about where He feeds the birds and if He takes care of the birds then why worry about my needs. From that day on I have given all my needs to God and its been a very rough road but I wouldn’t trade it for anything because I have grown so much in these last 4 1/2 years. I keep reminding myself when I get down that God has a wonderful plan for me.
That is the thing, God has a plan for each of us and though we don’t see the big picture, God sees it and he will bring us through whatever it is were going through. I am going to write more in the coming months about adversity and overcoming. Lordwilling
Hugs
