My Friend and Author, Ann Lee Miller
I’m excited to introduce to you my sweet friend, Ann Miller. We first met back in 1991, when my husband began classes at Ashland Theological Seminary. Ann’s husband was (and still is) a pastor, and we reconnected each year at our denomination’s national conference. Neither Ann nor I could have imagined the twists and turns our lives would take in the almost twenty years we’ve been friends, but the Lord has been so faithful and has now connected us through our love of writing.
Ann’s “Official” Bio:
Ann Lee Miller earned a BA in creative writing from Ashland (OH) University and writes full-time in Phoenix, but left her heart in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where she grew up. She loves speaking to young adults and guest lectures on writing at several Arizona colleges. When she isn’t writing or muddling through some crisis—real or imagined—you’ll find her hiking in the Superstition Mountains with her husband or meddling in her kids’ lives.
1. Ann, tell us about your publishing journey.
I wrote for ten years, then published Kicking Eternity in June, The Art of My Life in September, and Avra’s God in December. Tattered Innocence is slated for March 2013.
2. What personal life experience made the plot of this book especially poignant for you?
I really enjoyed reliving some of my high school and college memories, particularly Kallie’s salvation experience, which was my own.
3. What spiritual lessons did you apply to your own life while you researched/wrote this manuscript?
Avra’s God is a book about the struggle to forgive. I have wrestled with forgiving many times. Forgiving doesn’t come easy to me or to my characters. But, for both of us, forgiveness was worth fighting for.
4. What spiritual impact do you hope this story will have on your readers?
I hope my readers will consider seeking God’s forgiveness for their sins as well as working toward forgiving the people in their lives who have sinned against them.
5. Where can readers find out more about you and your writing?

Back Cover Copy on Avra’s God (Dec. 1 release):
In the tradition of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, four friends navigate college and the drama churned up by their Florida beach band to cement friendship and more.
Avra wants love, but drummer Cisco—self-medicating from his parents’ divorce with sex and intoxicants—is a poor choice. Cisco hungers for fresh-baked cookies and the scent of family he finds at Avra’s.
Kallie shares her classically trained voice only with lead vocalist Jesse and fights to keep her heart safe. Jesse feeds on fame and hides more than insecurity beneath his guitar.
The friends surf ego, betrayal, and ambition and head for wipeout. But somehow, when they’re not looking, Avra’s God changes them all.
Anyone who leaves a comment with their e-mail address will receive a free e-copy of Kicking Eternity, part of New Smyrna Beach Series along with Avra’s God.

Sharon,
Your comment was written like a true author–a cliffhanger. Do tell, what’s happening in March?
