Want to press fast-forward to read it, as ALL your books have totally enlarged my understanding of intruiging Biblical characters, given me personal revelation of things in my own life, and compassion with awe towards each person. You have that gift of insight and intuition that makes a historic name into a credible personality with that same need we have: love.
I would like to know everything about her life, her thoughts and what she may have been feeling.
Thank you for a chance to win a book. God bless!
Looking forward to reading this as I haven’t read a Historical Fiction book about Miriam before. I think it will be interesting to maybe see discussed: What was it like for Miriam being treated horribly with the rest of the Hebrews but seeing her brother grow up in wealth & luxury (as if he was escaping). What feelings/attitudes did she maybe have to deal with; Miriam’s changing relationship with Moses as his status changed from baby brother to prince to leader, did she change the way she related to him & was she able to catch up on the time that was lost from not being together for all those years; Miriam’s punishment of leprosy, events surrounding it & why that particular punishment.
I am very excited about reading another one of your wonderful books. I have always loved the character of Miriam, and can’t wait to see how you present her life…her thoughts…her actions…to us, in a fresh and new way I’ve never considered before. You are SO good at ‘stretching’ me. XO
I’ve enjoyed the Biblical fiction I’ve read in the past, and am looking forward to reading more and discovering a new author — especially someone I already know just a little bit, who presents a wonderful Christian character. 🙂
I just started reading The Pharoah’s Daughter. I look forward to the rest of this series. 🙂
Biblical Fiction is my all-time favorite genre to read! can’t wait to add you to my list of favorite authors!!! Happy New Year! (ps, pick me! pick me!!!)
I would like to read some writing tips and more about your life. Thanks for the contest!
I would like the Blog to discuss Miriam’s feelings as a sibling to Moses…did she ever feel 2nd best? Was she ever envious of his pampered life as the son to Pharoah’s daughter? (which was a GREAT book by the way). How was her relationship with her mom, Aaron? How did Miriam’s relationship w/ God deepen?
Finallyoersodescription of
behind the scenes?
I would love to know about her life and relationships! How did she feel about her brother killing the Egyptian and then not seeing him for a long time? I am very much anticipating this book!
Happy New Year Mesu! I am so excited about Miriam and can’t wait to get the chance to read it, loved book 1 in the series! Since I love history so much I would definitely enjoy posts about your research and the historical facts that make it into the story.
Happy New Year, Mesu! I can’t wait to read Miriam’s story and learn more about the traditions and happenings of the time. I love how you research all the details so that the settings in your book are historically accurate. I am a huge history nerd, and add to that the opportunity to connect more with women of the Bible and grow spiritually, and that explains why I love your books so much! Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift! <3
Look forward to reading your next book. I always try to put myself in the character when I am reading. You are such a wonderful author. I need the distraction right now. I have read all of your books so far. Happy New Year Mesu and all!!!
her relationship with her brothers would be interesting to learn more about. What about her friendships? Did she have female friends that she confided in? Was her mother aware of Miriam’s spiritual insights when she was a child or was this a gift later in life?
How her life went one direction while her brothers went another. She was obedient to her mother, did it ever turn to jealousy?
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I would enjoy reading about the revelations the Lord gave you into Miriam life.
Why was she punished with leprosy?
I have been wanting to read this book for a L-O-N-G time!:)
Was Miriam jealous of Moses? How did she become to be viewed as a prophetesses?
I love your books which give us an in depth view of the numerous people of the Bible.
I would enjoy learning about Miriam’s life, her family and realationship with God.
Just LOVE your books! Very excited and looking forward to reading the latest release!
I’m looking forward to reading Miriam’s story. I have studied about Moses and the Exodus. This touched a little on Miriam and Aaron. I want to see what you have done with it. I know I’ll learn something new.
Was there sibling rivalry? Miriam was a part of ‘saving Moses’ life’, did he realize that and did she feel she deserved more of a pat on the back? Can’t wait to read this story!
I have never read any of your books, but they look intriguing. I would find any discussion on Miriam interesting.
I’ve only read one of your books so far, enjoyed it, and am now anxious to read more!
When I recall my time in the Word, three scenes in particular stick out in my mind when I think about Miriam:
The first is how she followed the pitch covered basket containing baby Moses down the banks of a crocodile infested river and then offered her own mother as a wet nurse to the Princess (Exodus 2:7). Kids are so bold!
The second is her spontaneous song of worship in Exodus 15!
“The Lord is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
The Lord is a warrior;
the Lord is his name.”
If these scened made it into the book, I know Mesu will build up to it beautifully and have me whooping and hollering — Amen!
The last scene that comes to mind is when Miriam is struck with Leprosy after grumbling against Moses for having a Cushite wife (Numbers 12). I can relate to Miriam in this moment. Despite all she has seen God do, after all the time she has walked with Him, and talked with Him… she is still tempted to gossip/grumble. “Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.” James 3:10 {Thank you JESUS for not striking me with leprosy.}
I’m not sure where Mesu will take us on this journey with Miriam, but I am super excited to take take the ride with you all.
Blessings,
Amanda
Miriam had a hand in the saving of Moses, I would like to discuss the type of daughter she was……the type of sister. What type of relationship did she have with her brothers. Did either of her brothers go to her for advise??? What was Miriam doing when Aaron was pleasing the Israelites by forming a calf to view as their god? Was she showy, dancing in the moonlight along with everyone else, or, did she try to stop him from committing such an offense? As popular as Moses and Aaron were, how did she get along with the other women in the camps? Was she given special favor???? Just a few questions I have and I think would be great topics of discussion.
I LOVE your books and am so looking forward to finding out all about Miriam……Be blessed.
