You’ve heard that old saying there’s a light at the end of the tunnel? What if there is light in the midst of the tunnel?
Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the LORD rises to shine on you. Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the LORD rises and appears over you. All nations will come to your light; mighty kings will come to see your radiance. Isaiah 60:1-3
I believe this section of scripture is a reminder that during the midst of a trial God is still shining His light for everyone to see. I’ve had my share of trials and I’m always amazed when friends, family members, even acquaintances tell me how my reliance on God was evident going through it. I give them a quizzical look and say, “Who me?”
Of course, my heart’s desire is to lay everything at His feet and walk away, but many times I pick it back up and have to give it over again and again. Yet in those dark moments I believe He takes our heartfelt desires and shines a bright light on the darkness for all to see His glory.
I dislike trials as much as the next person, but if my trials bring one person to the feet of Jesus and give them hope, then it is worth it.
