  1. Gorgeous cover, Mesu! I love the color and how it blends so well with the other two (even though it’s not part of the Mosaic series) and how evident the mystery of Isaiah’s daughter is! Yay!

    I love the book of Isaiah, especially the “greeting card verses” about Christ. But because I also suffer from chronic health issues that are debilitating at times (Ehler Danlos Syndrome, fibromyalgia and all that go with them), my fav is Isaiah 41:10: “…fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

    Calms me just thinking about it.

    Thanks for the contest, Mesu!

  2. I love Isaiah 6:8, when God asked whom shall he send and Isaiah cries out, “Here am I! Send me.” Isaiah is an inspiration to do the Lord’s will without hesitation. As the Lord knew and we find out, he had a hard road ahead of him, but God was always with him. I love all of chapter 6; the throne room of God is beautiful and brings chills to me every time I read it.

  3. I love the cover. My favorite Isaiah verse is Isaiah 41: 10 it says. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
    Thanks for the chance to win!

      Yep, that’s the second vote I’ve seen for that one, and it’s one I use in my “Sacred Love, Sacred Dance” retreats because God does indeed lead us with His righteous right hand. I LOVE that! 😉

  4. Mesu, the cover of Isaiah’s Daughter is beautiful. Isaiah 41:10 is so comforting and brings a peace to me.

  5. I just love your books, Mesu; how you make Bible characters spring back to life after being gone for thousands of years. Isaiah 26:3&4 has been helping me, encouraging me these past days. I have a chronic illness as well,( brain tumor removed-small part was left because it was ingrafted into the brain), and the medicine that I take has many side effects. Isaiah 26, A Song of Praise: You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal .
    Isaiah 26:3&4

      Thank you so much for your encouragement, Brenda. I’m so sorry to hear of the lingering effects of the tumor and meds. The Scripture you chose was also an incredible help to me when I was struggling with undiagnosed symptoms and felt like I was losing my sanity. He alone can give peace when none can be found in this world. Blessings on you, dear one!

  6. My favorite verse has always been Isaiah 40:31. I hold this verse dear to me during all of life’s trials. Never give up. when we have Christ we can do anything. My husband and I are in the process of mastering an Appalachian Trail complete hike. We have 1500 miles under our belt with 600 miles yet to go and this verse has kept me going. Without God this would not be possible. We are 70 and 60 years old this year and still moving. We will do a section starting April 1st to mid May. Then we will do Maine on the AT to finish the trail in August.

      OMGooooooodness, Bonnie!!! You are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you as your lean on Him for every step of the AT! So proud of the glory of God that shines through you, gal! You go! 😀

    1. I love the cover of Isaiah’s Daughter. The beauty and mystery of the woman is intriguing. I have pre-ordered my copy!

      I echo so many of the other favorites above with Isaiah 41:10. But I also hold close to my heart Isaiah 40:28. This verse reminds He is the Everlasting, He does not grow tired or weary.

        Hooray! Thanks for the pre-order. I think that’s you and my mom so far. LOL!

        I love Isa. 40:28 (29 too)–and that His understanding no one can fathom. It’s good for me to remember that when things don’t go the way I want them. 😉

  7. Oh, Isaiah is a treasure trove! I do love Isaiah 40:31. I think it is one of my favorites as well. The ability to “walk and not faint” is so very important. In addition, I love these 2 in particular as well:

    Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

    Isaiah 43:2 – When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

    I don’t have any real in-depth reasoning – just that I love the way God tells us as His people that He won’t let us down!

      Haha! Funny story…I was reading through Isaiah as a young Christian, and my husband was especially late coming home one night. My mind and imagination ran away with me, and I was just sure he was lying dead in a ditch somewhere. I had his eulogy written, using Isa. 43:2 as my “stiff upper lip” Scripture that would get me through life as a young widow with two toddlers. When he got home (at 5 a.m. – before cell phones), I clobbered him over the head with my Bible!!! 😉

  8. Mine is the same Isaiah 40:31. I actually cross stitched this verse for my son. It had beautiful mountains in the background with an eagle soaring across the sky. Took me a long time but it was beautiful. We also have an organization here in Tuscaloosa called Eagles Wings. It’s for adults with special needs.

      How cool!!! One of the themes in ISAIAH’S DAUGHTER is the presence of different birds in the story. I haven’t yet worked in an eagle, but I’m trying to figure out a way to do that!!! 😉

  9. Isaiah 40:31 is my favorite verse also. When I was a little girl we sang it in church and I fell in love with the verse then. I liked the melody but also the mental picture of an eagle gliding through the skies. Through the ups and downs of life I have learned the importance of waiting on the Lord for His solutions and leaning on His strength to keep running the race before me. On our first trip to Alaska I stepped onto a fishing pier on the Kenai River and watched eagles glide across the water, reach down to catch their dinner, then soar into the sky!
    My second favorite passage is Isaiah 43:1b – 5a, the assurance that God is there no matter how deep the waters or high the flames.

      OOOOOOOOH, I love that one in Isa.43 too, Beth! Thanks for sharing that. I think I read a book years ago in which Elizabeth Elliott shared that Scripture as one of her favorites (how do I remember that and forget the grocery list?). Beautiful!! 😉

    1. Don’t know what happened to my comment. This printed instead. I chose Isiah 59:1. God is always close and listening.

  10. Cover art draws me in to read a blurb… and this cover is stunning!

    “Do not fear, for I am with you.”
    Isaiah 41:10 This is a favorite verse that brings me comfort when I’m fearful or worrying about something.

      That nearness is so essential, isn’t it? It’s what Moses demanded of God–rather than an angel to lead them through the wilderness. It’s what God promised Joshua, when He told him to be strong and courageous. And most importantly, it’s what Jesus promised to His disciples and fulfilled with the gift of His Spirit to all who believe! Hallelujah! (I just had church right here at my computer!) 😉

  11. Isaiah 40:31 brings me hope & strength: “…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

      OOOOOOOhhhhh, I love that version of the verses: “…The Lord will make you go through hard times, but he himself will be there to teach you, and you will not have to search for him any more…” WOW!!! Thanks for sharing, gal! 😉

  13. Isiah 9:6 without his lowly birth, in a manger. He came to us and gave us a chance to come to him after his death and resurrection. May your books be a witness to those you who are seeking God might read your books and look further toward their salvation. God Bless you in all that you do.

      Yes, Jeff! That’s one of the verses that I specifically wanted to understand in Isaiah’s context. I’m not sure I’ll include this one in the book (because this particular aspect of his prophecy didn’t fit into the storyline), but I’m hoping to include “the virgin will be with child.” Thanks for sharing the Good News!

  14. There are so many great passages in Isaiah that it’s hard to pick just one! Chapter 53 is very meaningful because it reminds me of what Jesus went through on the cross.

      Isaiah 53 is probably the most well-known of all Messianic prophecies, and I found some fascinating information about how Isaiah might have interpreted that in his own context. Blew me away! 😉

  15. Isaiah 41:10

    We all battle fear in unfamiliar situations. God’s word tells us not to be afraid, but to trust in Him.

  16. “He won’t brush aside the bruised and the hurt and he won’t disregard the small and insignificant, but he’ll steadily and firmly set things right.” Isaiah 42:3 The Message

    This verse jumped into my hurting heart some years back and I go back to it continually. The Word is so awesome through Isaiah, I like all versions of the book. Thanks for opening up this for a contest and praying I’ll win, as the library hasn’t gotten your last few books.

  17. Your quote is one of my favorites too. I also like Isaiah 41:10 NLT Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
    In my sub headings on Chapter 41 says God’s help for Israel and I know He means it for us too.
    I like all of Chapter 53 as it tells us about the signs for Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection.

      I think you’re right, Connie, on taking some of these promises meant for Israel and claiming them–as God’s children–for ourselves. In the NT, Paul tells Christians we’ve been “grafted in” to the “vine” so I think we can certainly claim the promises!

  18. My comment didn’t show up.

    Isaiah 55:8-9

    God used it to reassure me He was in control and knew what I was going through when I had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was also dealing with post-menopausal bleeding. I had just had a total knee replacement 4 months earlier.

      Oh, man! Sometimes we go through those “Job” times and really question if God has blinked or gone on vacation. That’s a beautiful verse to remind us He’s in control…even if we don’t understand. Thanks for sharing!

  19. Isaish 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation;
    I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song;
    he also is become my salvation.
    I love this because at one time I had a lot of fear of things that can happen in life, but I have fought that fear with scriptures. I know our God is our salvation and we CAN trust Him.

      Fear can be such a mountain in this life. Once we have it settled in our hearts that GOD IS GOOD, and He’s in perfect control, that fear can subside. What a great Scripture to cling to! Thanks for sharing it with us! Blessings on ya, gal!

  20. Isaiah offered us so many promises and do much hope and I love your chosen verse. I have chosen to share the following verse because it is so comforting to know that we are never truly alone and we can draw strength from our faith in our Heavenly Father. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 NIV

  21. The book of Isaiah is filled with “nuggets”. One of my favorites is Isaiah 45:2-3 The Voice (VOICE)

    2 (to Cyrus) I will go ahead of you and smooth the way, lower the heights, break down bronze doors, and cut through iron bars.
    3 I will give you hidden treasures and wealth tucked away in secret places;I will reveal them to you. Then you will know that I am the Eternal, the God of Israel, who calls you by name.

      Oooooooh, yes! I love those passages in Scripture where the Lord promises to call us by name or give us new names. Because I’ve always had such a unique name, it’s always been fun to imagine what it will sound like when my Jesus actually says my name! And then to ponder what amazing new name He might have chosen for me. Isn’t that wonderful and intimate? I also love the name of God revealed here in Isa. 45:2-3…the ETERNAL. LOVE THAT! Thanks for sharing! 😉

  22. Isaiah 55:6 is a favorite of mine….Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. Whatever the problem/situation….Seek the LORD! I have found that to be so true through my current illness and other trying times in my life. He is faithful! The cover is unbelievable…I cannot wait to read this book!

      Such a wonderful reminder that He is ALWAYS near and ALWAYS may be found! Thank you, Linda! And thanks for the encouragement on the cover. I think it’s fabulous too. The folks at WBM do a marvelous job, don’t they?!

  23. The new cover is breath-taking dear Mesu! The intrigue…her braid…the whole thing just draws me in. I run to Isaiah for comfort. I’d have to say my favorite verse is Isaiah 43:2 – When you pass through the waters, I will be with you..and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; neither will the flame kindle upon you.” Such comfort when we sometimes feel we’re walking through the fire. What a blessing to know we are not alone. So many struggles all around us. Can’t wait to read your newest book. XO

      Thanks friend! I love everything about this cover too. I can’t tell you how many folks have used that phrase, “It draws me in.” So true!

      I know you are “walking through the fire” right now, my sweet friend. Praying for you while hubby struggled through these health issues. May you feel the hope and confidence Isaiah gained from these words!
