OF FIRE AND LIONS Cover Reveal Contest

The Old Testament book of Daniel comes to life in this novel for those who loved Lynn Austin’s Chronicles of the Kings series or Francine Rivers’ Mark of the Lion series.

Survival. A Hebrew girl first tasted the need of it when she escaped death nearly seventy years ago as the Babylonian army ransacked Jerusalem and took their finest as captives. She honed her skill while living among the Medes, bowing her knee to both gods and men.

Now, as Daniel’s wife and matriarch of her family, Belili thinks she’s safe and can live out her days in Babylon without fear—until the night Daniel is escorted to King Belshazzar’s palace to interpret mysterious handwriting on a wall. On that very night, the Medo-Persian Army invades, and Belili’s tightly-wound secrets begin to unravel.

As Yahweh’s sovereign hand guides Jerusalem’s exiles to the end of captivity, can the frightened Hebrew girl break the chains of survival and dare to live in truth? And how will the conqueror, King Darius, respond to Babylon’s longest-living wise man, a man who prays to Yahweh alone? Experience, with Daniel and Belili, the majesty and splendor of Yahweh, the God of fire and lions.

    1. Impressive beauty, distinguishing colors, resplendent in the presentation of the sumptuous red swirl of the ladies scarf over the powerful warrior lion…all mysteriously attractive, alluring fascination, enticing us into the covers of a mesmerizing, enchanting story. The wait has been excruciating…but well worth the wait!

  1. The part of the cover I like most is the way the woman is moving her cape over the head of the lion. It really pulls the whole cover together, and it is not something I would consider on my own.

  2. I like the colors and the Lion at the bottom. Strong…bold. Can’t wait to read this one! Thank you for sharing the cover.

  3. What I like most about the cover… I love that the lion’s fur looks like fur, yet, fire. That is so cool!

    Blessings,
    Lynn

  4. I love the way the red cloak is brushing over the top of the lions head to make it look like red fire. And then the flames around the lions face but yet he is not burning.

  5. oh wow this cover is stunning. the lady looks like she is in control of the lions and the color of her dress shows confidence. the lion is not a baby lion, but one that has been through life and probably some tough situations with the scars on his nose. he looks intense, giving the feel of the whole cover one of seriousness.

  6. Oh my, this cover is gorgeous!!! I cannot wait to read this book!!!! My favorite part is the color scheme and the flow. I love how the women’s outfit glows into the fire surrounding the powerful lion. Stunning!!!

  7. Flames and the eyes of the lion

  8. I like the use of colors and photo blending. It’s dramatic and makes me want to read this book even more.

  9. I love the penetrating eyes of the lion and how the red cloak blends into the fire around the lion. Absolutely beautiful!

  10. I love the firey colors and the way the lion’s face goes into flames. I think the woman on the cover will draw readers in to find out why there is a woman in the story of Daniel. Also, a shadowy figure on the right side of the cover. Interesting! Great cover!

  11. The beautiful pink cover (my favorite) and that a woman is featured. I had expected “Daniel”! The puzzle was so much fun! Thanks for working my brain, plus Hubby helped!

  12. The entire thing is very eye-catching. I love it. Since you want us to choose one thing I think I have to say that mine is the way the red flows between the woman and the lion, connecting them.

  13. The lion caught my attention first & then the swirling of the cape (cloth). Immediately thought of Daniel in the Lion’s den. Knowing that Mesu writes Biblical fiction it didn’t take my a moment to thinki that. Love the cover and your books.

  14. Love the cover! Working the puzzle was so much fun! I love how the lion’s fur blends in with the flames which in turn blend in with the lady’s cloak. Gorgeous colors! One is not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I must say this cover makes this book seem very intriguing!!

  20. I love the color scheme. This cover jumps out at me! I also like how the lion’s mane converges seamlessly into flames. Well done!

  21. This picture: a woman, a rich flowing red robe, an older wise lion–just what do the three draw me to? I am eager to see how they relate!

  22. the cover art seems to fit the Title to a TEE……but i really like how the fire seems to surrounds the Lions head. You really made it pop.

  23. I love the way the lion is dappled with fire and how the red scarf seems to haze into the lion. Very creative. My favorite cover so far!

  24. I really like the lion. I think this is the first time you have had an animal on the cover and it just changes it up a bit.

  25. I really like the red coat sweeping over the lion’s head. I can’t wait to read this!!! I just found moshed Isaiah’s Daughter. Loved it!!!

  26. What I like best about the cover is that the book was written by you.
I don’t have the patience for puzzles.

  27. I love the flow of the cover, which makes it look so very “Mesu.” There are many lovely book covers out there, but it’s not hard to pick yours out of the crowd with their strong characters, beautiful colors and the flow of the elements.

  28. I love the lions mixed with the flames. It reminds me a bit of Narnia. The woman with her dress and head covering merging with the Lion is also really beautiful. The cover is just spectacular!

  29. I don’t know if I’m doing this right. But I am really looking forward to this story about and around Daniel. I really loved the cover with the lion being front and center. I’ve read the three other books and love them

  30. I love the penetrating eyes of the lion and how his image merges into the fire and vibrant red cape. It is an absolutely mesmerizing cover design! I can’t wait to read this book!

  31. I like how her cloak looks like fire at the bottom around the lion. I also like the lion himself. And how the red swirls and the colors of it are changing as it comes down.

  32. Somehow the colors just works perfect!! And the lion is just so awesome you get the distinct feeling about a dark secret but the Lion is going to see right through it and the battle scars shows that He is still in control and always will be and that His forgiveness and grace is endless

  33. This is your best cover yet. I love the colors and the mystery surrounding this woman and the Lion. I cannot wait to read your books. Anxiously awaiting the release date! God Bless you for using your talent for HIM!

  35. The puzzle was a great idea, very fun and who can resist a puzzle? I love the bold colors and the fiery lions mane.

  36. I love the crimson red. It is a visual reminder of Christ as He is woven throughout Scripture. The story of Daniel is a powerful vision of who Christ is…. Savior! Can’t wait to read this.

  37. I can appreciate the flow of the graphics from one into the other and how seamlessly connected they are along with the expression on the woman’s face and intensity in the lion’s eyes.

  38. What I love about the cover?
    the sheer creativity !
the sweep of the cape, the shade of the cape’s colour, and particularly, the eyes of the lion.
    Magnificent.

    US address.

  39. Artistically, I love the blend of the cape into the lion – that cusp where you start thinking, “Oh! that could be me!”

    Beautiful!

  40. I love the dramatic sweep of the cape – the sense of movement and that the woman is not just passively watching, but is part of the action somehow. Beautiful!

  41. The lion appears to be listening or is distracted by someone, such as the presence of God. The scars on his nose prove he is courageous and willing to fight in other circumstances.

  42. What I love the most about the cover is the woman. So intriguing! I’m looking forward to seeing how a woman was in Daniel’s life. (I was always taught that Daniel was a eunuch.) Can’t wait to read it!

  43. I reminds me of the Lion of Judah. It is powerful looking. Lions and Fire are both things that strike fear and alarm in someone, so this cover certainly is eye catching and causes one to want to read the book to know more about what is happening.

    –Leona J. Atkinson
