The Waters of Babylon by Mesu AndrewsLet’s celebrate with Thankful Hearts! I’ll give away one eBook copy of By the Waters of Babylon, Psalm Series Book #2.

Experience the psalms like never before – through heart-pounding fiction!

When Babylon destroys Jerusalem, as Yahweh warned through his prophets, the captives’ bitterness and grief pours out in the  Captives’ Psalm:

“[By the rivers of Babylon] we sat as exiles, mourning our captivity, and wept with great love for Zion. Our music and mirth were no longer heard, only sadness. We hung up our harps on the willow trees.” (Psalm 137:1-2, The Passion Translation)

A young Israelite woman is among them, captured by a mercenary Scythian prince. Driven toward Babylon by both hatred and hope, she endures captivity to reunite with her husband.

But will he be there when she reaches Babylon? Will the prince risk the Scythian throne – and his life – to believe in the Hebrew God?  Can they both find what they seek when they meet the prophet Ezekiel . . .  by the waters of Babylon?

I’m also thankful for dear writing friends, Brennan McPherson and Carole Towriss. Each of us chose a separate Psalm for this novella project, The Psalm Series, that can be read as stand-alone stories. Please check out their fabulous novellas:

  1. Psalm 23 is full of richness. We can totally trust and lean on our Shepherd as he will guide us and lead us. We have to just trust him!

  2. As a deer… I love Psalm 42. It’s one of my favorites, but then again, I love all the Psalms. I haven’t had a chance to read any of the Psalm series yet, but they sound amazing!

  3. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

  4. I have already bought this book, but what a nice gift if I win. Thank you for all that you do Mesu. May God continue to Bles and Keep you.

  5. Such comfort in the first verse, Amplified Version: “The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me]. I shall not lack.” And as you’ve said in your writing today, Seeking Him first, He is there for us.

  6. When I was a widow several years ago, I heard a bible teacher say that the ‘Lord is my Shepherd, my constant companion.’ That helped me not feel alone when I got home from work each night. I’d walk in the door and say, Lord, you’re my Constant Companion. What are we going to do tonight? I never felt alone after that.

  7. Yeah though I walk through the valley…….knowing my savior is with me no matter the circumstances, gives me peace and I look forward to rising above any situation because He is guiding my path.

  8. I’ve already read and left reviews on this book. Definitely 5 stars all the way. Love your books and one of my favorite genres is Biblical fiction. My other favorite is Christian romantic suspense – no matter the era. You, Tessa Afshar, Connilyn Cossette and Francine Rivers are my favorite Biblical fiction authors.

  9. In my Lord I have all that I need. He renews my life, He leads me along the right paths, even if I walk through a difficult time, even death, I will not be afraid of any danger, because He is with me. He’s my comforter, He blesses me, saved me and I will live with Him in heaven forever.

  10. Belteshazzar
“The Lord is my Shepard ” is my favorite part. It’s a comfort to know that Jesus loves, protects and cares for me that much.

  11. His Babylonian name was Belteshazzar. My favorite part of Psalm 23 is “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” I can’t wait for that day!

  12. Daniel’s name was Belteshazzar. I love that he prayed every day for his people while looking from a window. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

  13. My favorite part is the relationship between the Shepard and the sheep. Having done research on it in the past really shows how much the Lord cares for us.

  14. Psalm 23: 6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.” This verse brings much confidence in today and the days to come even though our country and the world seems to get “a little crazier” everyday. I agree Daniel’s other was Belteshazzar.

  15. Favorite part of Psalm 23: “He leadeth me beside the still waters.” Just like the still waters, it’s calming, refreshing, and reassuring.
